The South Wales Aviation Museum is dedicated to promoting an appreciation for the fascinating world of aviation.
As part of our commitment to education and community engagement, we warmly welcome visits from schools, Cub Scouts and Guides, other youth and adult organisations.
Our group visits are hosted by SWAM volunteer guides. All of our guides are aviation enthusiasts, many are RAF veterans and all enjoy sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge of our aircraft. They will lead your group on guided tours tailored to the age and interests of each group – making the visit memorable, educational and enjoyable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q- When can group visits be arranged?
ADULT GROUPS – both daytime & evening – Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday – approximately 2hrs in length. Starting at 10am, 1pm or 6pm.
SCHOOLS – day visits on Tuesday or Thursdays- 10am-2pm.
SCOUTS & GUIDES – evening visits on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday – approximately 2hrs 5:30-7:30pm or 6-8pm;- depending on distance to travel.
Q- How far in advance do we need to book a visit?
We can only host one group visit a week and our group visit diary fills up quickly. It is usually full for around eight weeks in advance.
To avoid disappointment schools are advised to secure a booking before the term in which they would like to arrange their SWAM visit.
Q- Are there minimum size and age limits for school visits?
We are able to host visits from single classes of children older than 7yrs. (Progression Step 3- KSII, Junior age.)
Q- Are there age and size limits for evening visits for Scouts & Guides?
We are happy to host evening visits from Cubs & Scouts; Brownies & Guides. (9yrs plus) groups of 20 plus.
Q- How much do group visits cost?

Adult groups – £12.50 per person
Young person groups – £7per child, scout, guide, cadet…
